~Review~

Most people who know me, know that I adore Rachel Harris and I have loved everyone of her books I've read. I love the way she can write both YA and NA so seamlessly. She once mentioned that Sherry and Ty were perhaps her favorite to write in this series and I would have to agree. While I love Jason & Colby, Cain & Angelle; Sherry and Ty just have this chemistry that is so undeniable and a really exciting story. I am a huge fan of fake relationship plot lines, it's perhaps one of my favorites so this book really hooked me.

Sherry is a hopeless romantic. She wants true love and the fairy tale but she is always picking the wrong guys. After her latest heartbreak, she decides it's time to settle down with a nice, dependable, boring man. However, she wants one more wild fling before she straps herself to a life of mediocrity. Enter Tyler Blue. Tyler is a big time country star and music is his life. He's not a playboy like most people think but he doesn't want anything to get in the way of his dreams and he's afraid settling down would do just that. When he meets Sherry and she doesn't know who he is, he's intrigued by her and excited to have a night with a woman that doesn't want him because he's Tyler Blue. Too much tequila and a night in Vegas leaves them both with a little morning surprise.

I really love Sherry! She is sweet, smart and really down to earth. She loves her family and will do anything for them. She has dreams of her own but she puts them aside for her family. She's confidant but I love that she also has a bit of self doubt. It makes her real. No matter how confidant we appear, we all are a little afraid to fail. Tyler is the exact kind of guy that she doesn't want to fall for but as she gets to know him, she can see that he isn't at all what she expected and her heart betrays her. I feel like Tyler shows her that she doesn't have to settle, she just had to find the right guy.

Tyler is charming, sexy, sweet and misunderstood. Because he hasn't settled down or had a serious relationship, he is viewed as a playboy. However, that isn't him at all and I loved getting to know him because it's obvious from the start. He loves music; it's his passion and he doesn't want anything to derail his dreams. While I think he's a bit disillusioned to think that he can't have love because of his dreams, I understand his feelings, especially after learning a bit more about his family. Like Sherry, he is a family man and he is living the dream just as much for them as he is for himself. Despite his best efforts, he can't help but fall for Sherry and she definitely opens his eyes to life.

Sherry and Tyler have incredible chemistry. They were made for each other and it is obvious from the moment they meet. Sherry doesn't care about his money or his fame. She gets to see the side of Tyler that most people don't and it's the real Tyler Blue. What woman doesn't love a man that can sing and play the guitar? I really liked how protective he became of Sherry. He wanted to make her happy and to help her realize her dreams. I really respected Sherry considering what Tyler was asking of her and I loved that she was willing to do it because she truly cared about him and wanted to help him. She would never hinder his career but only encourage and support him. What started out as a drunkin mistake and then became a mutually beneficial agreement, turned  into a true love story. Sherry finally got her fairy tale ending and she deserved it!

~Review~

Trying to find the words to adequately express how this book made me feel has been difficult. I was gutted, absolutely ripped apart and at one point had tears rolling down my face. I was on a plane; crying on a plane because this book was that beautiful and I couldn't control my emotions. Colleen Hoover has a really incredible writing style and she can tell a story like nobody's business.

I absolutely adored Ridge and Sydney! They build this beautiful friendship through their shared love of music and they really connected with one another. They come into each other's lives at a time when both of them really needed each other and I was unequivocally enthralled with their interactions. They fell in love right before my eyes and both their desire and their passion jumped of the pages. However, there are some very strong obstacles standing in their way and that's what makes this book so very heart breaking. I could feel the struggle that Ridge and Sydney went through as they tried to ignore their feelings and do the right thing. Sometimes the right thing isn't always whats right.

Ridge and Sydney walked a fine line but I loved the way they expressed their feelings to each other through the songs they wrote. They make incredible music together and they do it in such an unexpected way. I felt like their souls were intertwined with one another and this left them longing for something they didn't know if they could ever have. There are twists and turns and secrets to be revealed but I'm not in the business of spoiling a book, especially one this amazing so I don't want to delve into the plot too much. However, know this; it's gut wrenching and will grab a hold of you to the very end.

One of the most amazing parts of this book was the music. I am a huge music lover and associate music with my reads all the time. Sydney and Ridge write some amazing songs and as you go through the book, there is a link to the songs when they appear through out the story and you can actually listen to Griffin Peterson sing the song. This really kicked the book up a notch for me and added an incredibly unique element that made it that much more intimate and captivating. If you love Colleen Hoover, read this book, you won't be disappointed. If you've never read a book by her, read this book and you will fall in love with her writing!

~Review~

Caisey Quinn has really done it again. She is such a fantastic author and she is fabulous at invoking so much emotion with her writing. She will break your heart and make you cry but then she’ll put you back together at the end. Last Second Chance is another emotional and heart wrenching story and Van and Stella Jo are 2 very broken characters who help each other out of the darkness.

Stella is beautiful, smart, hard-working and the perfect daughter. However, she feels lonely and empty inside. Her mother only sees her as a trophy, something to show off and her father hardly recognizes her existence. When she meets Van, something awakens inside of her, something that she has never felt before. Van is a troubled rocker and he’s one night away from losing everything or worse, losing his life. When he first enters rehab, he’s just there out of obligation but meeting Stella awakens something him in and makes him want to be a better man.

I really liked both Van and Stella. Van is a freaking mess and he’s the type of guy you don’t want to like. However, the more you learn about him and his past, the more you understand what’s going through his head. He has experienced great loss and my heart broke for him with each piece of his past that was revealed. He uses drugs and alcohol to numb his pain and make him forget. I loved the way he was with Stella and the way he wanted to be a better person. Van has been numb for so long and Stella makes him feel again. I loved that Stella isn’t judgmental. She knows who Van is, the addiction he struggles with and she wants to be there for him. Something about him calls to her and she wants to be in his corner. I also think Stella needs Van as much as he needs her. For the first time, she feels something and she doesn’t feel invisible or unwanted.

There are a lot of obstacles in for Van and Stella to overcome as they build a relationship. Their journey is tough and heartbreaking but I loved the way they fought through everything. They both discover a lot about each other and themselves and they help each other heal and grow. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and the way the characters grew and developed. I felt like it flowed well and I was enthralled from the beginning to end. Caisey Quinn has done it again!

~Review~

I have loved every Cora Carmack book I have read and All Lined Up was no exception. She has an incredible writing style that draws me in and keeps me hooked to the entire time. I love that she creates incredibly strong yet vulnerable female characters and a perfect male counterpart to go along with them. While there's a plot behind every book, what really grabs a hold of me is the relationship she builds between the characters. It is so strong and I am always left wishing I could find something like that in real life.

I absolutely loved Dallas and she is one of the most well rounded characters I have encountered in a while. She is strong, beautiful, outspoken and smart but she is also closed off and feels a bit broken. She has a very strained relationship with her father and it has left her with a lot of bitterness and resentment that she carries around with her. This makes a lot of sense since she grew up without a mother and her father has always been all about football, making her feel second best to him. Despite being a little sheltered by her dad, I loved that she could really hold her own. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and be honest. I think she is so good at doing this with others because she can't really do it with her father. This definitely catches Carter's attention and draws him to her immediately.

I like Carter, a lot. He is such a great character and really the perfect guy that we all strive to find but know doesn't really exist. He is ambitious, hard working, strong and sweet. The way he respects and cherishes Dallas is definitely swoon worthy. I really liked that he wasn't the type of guy to just try and score, that he wanted everything from Dallas, even just friendship if that was all it could be. I also really liked his determination on the field too. He knew what he wanted and he went after it. He worked harder than anyone else, even knowing that his efforts may not even be recognized. He deserved to have a spot on that team and even more, he deserved to have the starting spot and a scholarship. He knew that he needed to focus on football and he knew the possible consequences of dating the coaches daughter but I loved that he risked it all to be with Dallas. he put her ahead of everything else and that is huge for her, especially with the way football has always ruled her life in the past. She never asked him to do it but the fact that he did anyways was incredible.

The way Cora built up their relationship was magnificent. I loved watching Dallas and Carter fall in love and navigate the secret relationship they built. Sometimes you can't really get to know someone when the relationship is built on secrets but they were able to do it because they still let each other in completely. They just couldn't let the rest of the world know. While their "friend" status may not have lasted long, the rules they established for that friendship carried over into their romantic relationship and I think they really made it easy to fall for each other. They were always honest and respectful of each other. Dallas respected Carter's need to train and gain a starting position on the team and he respected her need to take the physical part of their relationship slowly. He never once pressured her and proved to her that his feelings were real. Carter helped open Dallas up bring her out of her bitter shell. He made her a better woman and she made him a better man.

I loved Stella, Dallas' best friend, and I felt she really complimented Dallas. She is her exact opposite but Dallas needed her to help her break her shell a bit and she needed Dallas to calm her crazy. I also liked Ryan, Carter's friend. He pushes him and helps him train and I liked that Carter had that support. I think he and Stella are a book in the making too. While Silas is kind of a dick, I liked the way he stepped up to support Carter and there is definitely hope for him yet. Lastly, I loved the development of the relationship between Dallas and her dad too. They come a long way and in the end and I loved that father/daughter dynamic. I am a daddy's girl myself so seeing her start to build a stronger relationship with her dad was really beautiful.

Overall, I adored this book. I honestly couldn't put it down and I was a little sad when it was over. I loved the pacing and felt like it flowed really well. The characters were well developed and the plot was interesting and captivating. There's something really exciting about forbidden love and Cora really made that shine in All Lined Up. I can't wait for the next book in the Rusk University series!

~Review~

I fell in love with Renee Carlino's writing when I read Sweet Thing and I think she did another great job with Nowhere But Here. I feel like she really knows how to build some strong characters and develops an entrancing relationship between the two. I really felt the connection that Kate and Jamie had from the moment they met and I enjoyed every moment they spent together.

I liked Kate and I found her to be a very relate-able character. She is going through a rough period and really questioning herself and where her life is going. I have been there and I could totally feel for Kate and the things she is going through. Jamie is a mystery and at first sight he appears to be a bad boy but he is actually a sweet and gentle man. I loved that he was such a contradiction and I definitely fell for him immediately. I felt like he was a bit of a mystery but he was also genuine. 

I really felt like Kate and Jamie were both in a place in their lives where they really needed to find each other. They had such an amazing connection and they put the meaning in "everything happens for a reason." That being said, it isn't all sunshine and roses and they definitely have their relationship and their feelings for each other tested. I felt like Kate was a bit over-emotional and jumped to conclusions quickly but I could also understand her too. I recently went through a rocky relationship and men can be emotionally unavailable and hard to read. As women, we tend to over think things and assume the worst. While Kate's reactions to some situations frustrated me, I completely understood at the same time. I feel like this makes her character more real. I loved that Jamie didn't give up on Kate. He knew that she was hurt and confused and he respected her while still trying to make her see that they were right for each other. He made mistakes, there's no denying that but he truly cared about her and he would do anything to make her see that. What I wouldn't give to have a man feel that way about me!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and felt like it really spoke to me. At this time in my life and the things that I have been going through, Nowhere But Here resonated with me. The best things happen to you when you least expect it and sometimes you have to go through hard times to get to the good ones. Jamie and Kate were in desperate need of something spectacular when they met and while they made their fair share of mistakes along the way, they found the true love and happiness they both deserved.

Renee’s first friends were the imaginary kind and even though her characters haven’t gone away, thankfully the delusions have. She admits she’s a wildly hopeless romantic and she blames 80’s movies staring Molly Ringwald for that. She lives in Southern California with her husband, two sons, and their sweet dog June. When she’s not at the beach with her boys or working on the next book, she likes to spend her time reading, going to concerts, and eating dark chocolate.
