Drink of the week: Passion Iced Tea Lemonade

One of the reasons I love starbucks is that they are more than coffee. While I love to grab a latte I also love their Iced Tea Lemonades. My favorite is the Passion Iced Tea Lemonade. The tea and lemonade balance each other so well. The lemonade adds some sweetness and the tea softens some of the tartness of the lemonade.

Teaser 1: Gravity by Melissa West

He brushes my hair from my face, and then before I can say another word, he kisses me, ignoring the crowd of people in the hall. I want to lose myself in the moment, but the presence of everyone around us comes into focus- the jocks who worship Jackson, the stupid girls who chase him, Gretchen...Law, Oh no, Lawrence. I pull away and look over at him. His face is hard, unreadable.

Teaser 2: Feudlings by Wendy Knight

Ari froze mid-swipe. Will? Nearly dropping her bag, she raced around the corner, sliding to a stop in confused horror. Will was leaning against a table; every eye in the library watching him like a cobra watches a mouse. And the library was packed because the kids all had nowhere else to go.

Teaser 3: Daynight by Megan Thomason (Currently Reading)

"Chill, I'll be back. I promise. Trust me. If I don't come back, at least you have some great other options here-- Tristan and Ethan, the chick-magnet intern," he says in a joking tone, although I don't think it's funny. "By the way, it's not fake to me anymore. I'm falling for you Kira." Then he lets go and the river swiftly carries him away.

I love to read all different types of books and read a lot of dystopian and paranormal romances but my guilty pleasure would be adult romance novels. I don't know why but I love to read a book that makes me blush.

The main characters, Ari and Shane, are the two most powerful sorcerers and are the prodigies from warring clans. According to a prophecy, one must kill the other in order to end  a century old war. However, neither knows who the other one is. Ari ends up enrolling in the same boarding school that Shane attends they instantly form a friendship that soon leads to deeper feelings. Ari has to deal with her cruel grandfather who threatens her mother to get her to do what he wants. She hates fighting and feels like a monster but she does his bidding to protect her mother.

Ari is a strong girl but she is very closed off. She does not trust anyone except maybe her brother and she has spent most of her childhood being raised to fight and kill the other prodigy. It was nice seeing her character develop and begin to open up and let people in. Shane is the exact opposite of Ari and is very open and laid back. He is a ladies man and the best looking guy in school. He instantly feels different when he meets Ari and I liked that he gave Ari space and time to develop  her feelings and trust him while still holding true to his feelings for her.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It is the debut book for Wendy Knight and I thought she did a great job. The characters were very likable and the plot was well thought out and flowed nicely. It took me a few chapters to get into and there were a few times when the transition between characters confused me but overall I liked it. Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down and finished it in 2 days. While this seems like it would be a love story, there was actually a lot of action.

I just finished reading the first Taking book, Gravity, and it was amazing. It was Melissa West's debut novel and I loved it. I can't believe I have to wait until August for the story to continue. You can read my review from Tuesday if you are interested.
