Saturday @ Starbucks: Slammed & Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

It's been a long while since I've done a Saturday @ Starbucks post but I'm excited to have it back! I've been doing a lot of re-reading lately and I think I'd like to do it more regularly so I plan on recapping them and this feature will highlight a favorite book of mine that I was compelled to read again.

Drink of the Day: Caramel Apple Spice
It's Spring in Seattle which means rainy days. One of the my favorite things about rainy days is a warm drink and a book on the couch. The caramel apple spice is the perfect drink. It has the cider taste but the caramel adds the perfect sweetness to balance the tartness of the cider spices.

Re-Read Recap: Slammed and Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

The Slammed Series is one of my favorites and my absolute favorite Colleen Hoover series. Slammed itself is atop my all time favorites. After I read Confess, I was in the mood for more Colleen Hoover and decided to re-read this one. It was on a rainy and windy day that I spent getting re-acquainted with Will and Lake. It brought back all the feels!

When Will and Layken meet it is an immediate connection. Will is smart, reliable, kind, sexy. Also, he rights kick ass slam poems. I've never been a big fan of poetry but I became one after this book. I found slam poetry to be fascinating and exciting. I liked how real and down to earth Layken was. I didn't always agree with her decisions and didn't always like the way she handled things. However, I think love blinds you and makes you act in ways that you wouldn't normally. Layken's mom, Julia, was amazing and raised great children in Layken and Kel. I loved the way she welcomed Will and Caulder into their family. Will and Lake go through a lot in their relationship and have some pretty big ups and downs. They both have a lot of responsibility at a young age and I think the added stress played a huge part in that. In Slammed, we watched their relationship blossom and in Point of Retreat it grew and developed.
