~Review~

Nicole Williams amazes me. I've never been disappointed in a book of hers that I've read. Three Brothers was a nice surprise and another heart warming ranch story. I love her Lost & Found series, so I was excited for some more cowboys. She makes me want to move to Montana or Wyoming!

Scout was raised by John Armstrong from the age of 12 and grew up with his 3 sons. Each one played a vital role in her life, Chase was the big brother, Chance was her best friend and Conn was the one she loved. However, Conn had a hard time loving anyone and his destructive behavior caused Scout to leave as soon as she turned 18. After finishing Vet school, she finally returns to say goodbye to someone she loves. Her return home reveals secrets lies and tragedy but she also finds the love she's always been looking for.

 I liked Scout and I loved the development of her character. She went through a lot as a young girl and it definitely made her vulnerable but I loved that she went out on her own and came back stronger. She was able to face her demons head on and not back down even though that's all she wanted to do.

I liked the relationship she had with Chase and the big brother/little sister relationship they had. When Scout came back, she found Chase to be a very different man and she helped him find himself again. I also felt that her relationship with Conn was well done. It's definitely not an easy one and was very volatile but I felt like Nicole wrote it very well. I felt the tension and the emotions that Conn and Scout felt in each other's presence. Lastly, her relationship with Chance was beautiful. They have such an easy time together and the friendship they built was so easy, even after years without seeing each other.

This book had drama, laughter, mystery and an all together well written story, I flew through this book with ease and I was actually disappointed when it was over. If you're a fan of contemporary romance, I highly recommend this book.

~Review~

Oh my gosh, I absolutely love Will and Mia and anyone who knows me, knows that Will Ryan is my book husband. I adore this man and wish there was a guy like him out there in real life. He continues to prove his love and devotion to Mia and with this novella in his POV, I fell even more in love with him. 

Will and Mia have come a long ways and I loved seeing them finally happy together. They had a long and tumultuous journey to get where they are but I could really feel the love they had for one another. I really loved the way they handled the things that life threw at them and the way they supported each other.  Mia has come a long way and her growth as a character really shined through in this novella. Instead of running away from Will when things get tough, she forges ahead with him by her side.

Will is still a bit neurotic and he definitely has his share of episodes. He can get a bit panicky when things seem out of his control but Mia really centers him.  He has really come a long way with his career and I love that he doesn't sell out and he sticks true to his music and his beliefs. He and Mia need stability but he would never compromise their sound for money. 

This was a really sweet novella and I loved spending a little more time with Will and Mia. I absolutely adored Sweet Thing and I was so happy to get a chance to see their happily ever after and how it all turned out. I loved that all the angst was left behind in Sweet Thing and this novella was all about Will and Mia building a beautiful relationship and starting a life together.

~Review~

I have a lot of Sawyer Bennett’s books but with my hectic schedule, I haven’t been able to read any yet so On the Rocks was my first and I absolutely adored it. It was such a great read and I really liked the writing, the characters and the plot.

Gabby has loved Hunter for as long as she can remember but when he breaks her heart on her high school graduation night, she vows to hate him forever. However, five years later she has to work side by side with Hunter and all those feelings come back. Hunter liked that kiss with Gabby but he was freaked out and did the only thing he could think of at the time; deny. Now that they are working together, he is determined to break down her defenses and claim her as his.

I loved the interaction between Gabby and Hunter. You could tell their was chemistry there from the beginning and as much as Gabby wanted to pretend that she didn’t have feelings for Hunter, it was totally obvious. I liked Gabby. She was a strong woman and not afraid to speak her mind. She’s a woman trying to make it in a man’s business and I give her props for that. However, sometimes she frustrated me to no end with her denial about her feelings for Hunter. I was so happy when she finally just let go and stopped kidding herself.

Hunter was definitely a straightforward guy and I loved that about him. He wanted Gabby, he went after Gabby and he had no issues with letting her know how he felt. I really liked the way he supported his brother, Brody too. He is a total family guy and that was so sweet. He retired from his surfing career to come home and help acclimate his brother who just got out of prison. That shows true loyalty. I also liked the way Hunter handled the tough situations he and Gabby dealt with. He had no doubts about his feelings and he wasn’t going to let her go. She loved him and tried to push him away so he’d take his second opportunity at surfing. Hunter wasn’t having it and I loved him for that.

The passion between these two lit up the pages. It was hot and steamy but also sweet and tender. I could tell Hunter was in it for more than just a good time from the beginning and even though Gabby tried to deny it, so was she. I was hooked to this book from the beginning and enjoyed every minute. Sawyer has an excellent writing style that really draws you in and then she builds characters that are developed so well, you can’t help but become invested. I can’t wait for Brody’s story!

What was your favorite moment in this book?

Jessica: Definitely the jumbotron one. It was sweet and I just loved what was said!

Chelsea: Oh, that was such a great scene. My favorite was probably the hotel room after the football game in Miami. I loved the sensual they were with each other.

Nick, Jared’s best friend and teammate, is chasing Willow, Sheridan’s best friend, pretty hardcore. Do you like making a guy chase you a bit or would you rather shoot it straight?

Jessica: Ooh boy. I love being chased. I know it’s sort of childish, but I just do. I’ve always been a runner when it comes to starting new relationships. I think I just freak out and don’t know how to handle it. So I usually make the guy chase after me.

Chelsea: I’m with you Jess. I am more of a be chased than do the chasing kind of girl. I like when a guy goes for what he wants and it’s even better when it’s me. Well most of the time, lol.

Becoming a famous QB’s wife will definitely put you in the spotlight and earn a lot of unwanted attention from paparazzi. Is that something you could deal with?

Jessica: I think I could. But, I would probably hate it, always being photographed, having the whole world judging and watching me. I am who I am and I don’t know that I would do a good job of reigning it in just to make a good impression though.

Chelsea: I agree. I think I could do it but I would hate always having to be self-conscious and careful about what I do or say.

Men are either ass or boob guys. Women tend to notice other features. What is your favorite feature on a man?

Jessica: Sexy Biceps. I love a guy with a good strong set of arms!

Chelsea: Arms are always nice! I’m gonna have to be honest and say hair. I love a guy with a good head of hair.

I absolutely adored Game for Marriage. If you know me, then you know I’m a fan of plots with fake relationships and I loved this one. What woman wouldn’t want to marry a sexy hot pro football player? The hardest part for these two is the fact that they have such passion and chemistry but the whole relationship starts out being fake.

Sheridan and Jared are immediately attracted to one another and it is obvious from the start that something is there. Jared finds her beautiful and an incredible artist. She’s also really down to earth, giving and real. She’s definitely not like any other girl he’s been with. Likewise, Sheridan KNOWS a night with Jared would be incredible and earth shattering and she’s willing to give it a shot. What starts as one night, turns into a fake marriage that turns into true love.

I really liked Sheridan and Jared together. He is a confident man and I liked that Sheridan could be sassy and sarcastic with him. She wasn’t afraid to tell Jared how she felt or what she was thinking. I also liked how normal she stayed while being a pro quarterback’s wife. Even though it was fake, she had access to his money and his fame but she never exploited it. This is exactly why Jared fell for her and she was exactly what he needed in his life.

Jared is definitely sex incarnate and he and Sheridan have some incredible passion in the bedroom. He is not someone you can only have one night with. I like the way he tries to work Sheridan up but he also respects her and would never do anything to hurt her. He loves football and it has been his whole life. He is plagued with a shoulder injury and worried about being replaced by a younger guy. When Sheridan’s watching him, he’s motivated like he never realized he could be with a woman. Spending time with her has shown him what he’s been missing.

Overall, I absolutely loved this Brazen. It was light, sweet and quick to read. It had a fun plot that was easy to follow and flowed really well. I loved Sheridan and Jared and the development of their characters. I also really liked Willow and Nick and I can’t wait to read their story in Game for Trouble.

Game for Marriage is a light, fun, sexy read and I didn't want to put it down! I am also a huge fan of the fake relationship trope in romances and I love watching the couple fight their attraction and feelings for one another.

 

I liked both Jared and Sheridan instantly. They have an instant attraction to one another and decide to act on it. While Sheridan writes it off as a one night stand, Jared has other ideas in mind. Because of an incident with an ex-teammate's wife, Jared is required to clean up his playboy image. Naturally, the best way to do that is to have him settle down and become a married man- or so his agent thinks. Jared loves playing football and he doesn't want to be anywhere but San Jose. He agrees to finding a fake wife and after his one night with Sheridan, knows she's the one he wants.

 

The fact that Sheridan hesitates is CRAZY to me! Ok, maybe not crazy, but still. If I had hot sex with an even hotter guy who just so happens to be an incredibly well known talented football player, I would totally jump on that train. I think it really bothers Sheridan that Jared and his agent are offering her money to do this. Yet, they have done their research on her and know she needs the funds to keep her grandmother's art studio open. Sheridan has already had a taste of Jared Quinn and knows he has the power to destroy her. To protect herself and her heart, she has her lawyer put a no sex clause in the contract. While Jared is surprised at this, that certainly doesn't deter him from getting under Sheridan's skin.

 

I loved watching the tension between these two build up. Sheridan is fighting an inner battle of wills, as Jared is undeniably sexy and quite seductive. His promises of what he can do to her and for her make her come dangerously close to losing control. However, if that clause is violated, the contract would be null and void. These two definitely test their own limits and pull back right as things are getting good, letting doubts and fears plague their minds. I definitely get it with Jared's profession. There are so many people who want to exploit him and would use him to achieve their own endgame. Once these two are able to push aside their doubts and truly embrace their fake marriage, sparks literally fly. Jared is a much happier person and the people around him really take note of this. Sheridan also shines and is basking in that post-Jared glow. Once they both realize they are falling for one another, will they be able to turn their marriage into a real one or will they let outside influences and factors make them doubt what they thought was real?

 

I really liked Willow and Nick, Sheridan and Jared's best friends and I can't wait to read their story Game For Trouble! These two definitely have serious chemistry as well, but something is holding Willow back from letting her and Nick explore that chemistry together.

 

If you are in the mood for a quick, steamy read I would definitely recommend this one. I love Karen's writing style and she certainly knows how to write some delicious scenes!

~Review~

I don’t think it’s a secret that I adore Lauren Blakely and all of her books. Every Second With You blew me away and Trey and Harley are such spectacular characters. They have been through so much together and just when you think they’ve got their happily ever after, life comes in and turns their world upside down.

Every Second With You picks up right after The Thrill of It ends and we were left with such a cliffhanger that I was excited to see where things were going to go. I love Harley and Trey together. They complement each other so well and they have both fought addictions together and made each other stronger. I really like how much they love and support each other and as long as their together, they can get through anything. They go through some real shit so this is definitely tested and proved.

Harley’s mom kept a huge secret from her and my heart went out to her when she discovered the truth. I have always known her mom was an awful person but this further proved it. I loved how well Harley handled the situation and how strong she was. She really stuck to her guns when it came to her mom and she didn’t allow her to manipulate her or the situation. She also discovered things about her dad that really affected her but she had Trey there to reassure her.

Trey struggled a bit with some of the things he and Harley were facing and he made some less than ideal decisions but I understood that he was going through some really confusing and life changing events. I was definitely more than surprised by a few things that happened and I have to admit that I didn’t like it. However, it was only because I just want Trey and Harley to have sunshine and rainbows.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book. It’s one of those reads that you just can’t put down once you pick it up. I became so emotionally attached to these characters and their lives. As usual, the writing is fantastic and captivating. The plot was intriguing and full of surprises. I loved every second with it!

~Review~

Wow! I was incredibly impressed with Perfect Lie and the depth of emotion that came along with this book. It had such a somber tone but it was captivating at the same time. I was left breathless in the end and I still feel like I’m recovering.

I cried for Delialah. She truly has a very sad and lonely life and her upbringing was such a monstrosity. She was a product of rape when her mother was 15 and she is treated like it is all her fault. This made me so sad because she had no one in her life to show her love. On top of her terrible home life, she is severely bullied at school and it broke my heart that Delilah had to endure so much. When she finally runs away at 15 and is sent to a “shelter” for delinquents, she meets Brock. He becomes her first real friend and her first real everything. Brock sees all the special things about Delilah and he really does love her and care about her. But Brock has serious issues and in the end, he and Delilah are torn apart.

I loved the way Teresa spread Delilah’s past with Brock throughout the book through her memories of the events of the past. She is now in college and far away from home and the life she lived with Brock. But the events of the past still haunt her and she is ashamed to share what really happened with anyone. She blames herself for the demise of their relationship and she really struggles to get past everything. She wants to be someone different and she tries desperately to step outside of herself. She tries hard to be friends with her roommate Trish, who is a lot like to girls who bullied her in high school. She lets Trish convince her to do things she wouldn’t normally do in order to fit in. I really didn’t like Trish at all. She took advantage of Delilah and she pressured her to do things that she wasn’t really comfortable with. She also put her down a lot and tried to make her feel inferior.

When Delilah meets Abel, she is instantly intrigued by him and she wants to spend more time with him but she feels guilty at the same time. She hasn’t felt this way since Brock and it scares her a bit. I think I’m supposed to like Abel. I mean, he’s the guy who tries to get Delilah to see that she deserves to be loved and cherished for who she is and that she shouldn’t change for anyone. He clearly cares about her and is very protective. However, he pulls some real douche moves and I had mixed feelings for him. He acted childish and petty at times and he did some mean and hurtful things to her. I felt like he made assumptions and judgements of Delilah but then when she did the same thing, he got angry and stand-offish. In the end, I was neutral towards him. I felt like he truly loves Delilah and he helps her move forward and start to build a life full of love and happiness. However, I didn’t LOVE him.

I enjoyed taking the journey with Delilah as she confronted her past and healed from a scarred life. She really did overcome so many obstacles and while she tried to do it alone, in the end it was the support she had from the people around her like her therapist, Marie and Able that helped her move forward and move on. This book has a HUGE twist and I never saw it coming. I was utterly shocked and so very impressed with the author for her ability to leave me speechless and dazed from surprise. While deeply sad, this book was also powerful and profound, and the ending was perfect for me.
