This challenge is hosted by April over at Good Books, Good Wine. It is a new, unique challenge to put some spark back into blogging. Day 2 challenge is to Discuss your Bedtime Reading Ritual. Here is mine!
Honestly, I don't really have a specific bedtime ritual. It really varies based on what is going on and what my hubby is doing.
My husband travels a lot for work so when he is gone, I usually lounge on the couch and read with some music playing until it is time for me to go to bed. Sometimes, that's later than others, depending on how immersed I am in the book. I have a tendency to say "one more chapter" and then read like 5 more.
If my hubby is home and watching a movie or show he likes, I will lounge on the couch and read while he watches TV or plays video games. When it gets late, and I've done my whole "one more chapter" spill, we go to bed.
Some nights, my husband is tired and wants to go to bed early but I'm not ready. He doesn't like to go to bed by himself (yeah, he's kind of needy) so I'll lay in bed and read for a while and then go to sleep.
What about you? Do you have a specific routine or does it change up a bit like mine?
That's so cute! I actually have to do the same thing with my boyfriend. He always falls asleep first and I read in bed! Great post!

Aw! I don't really have a ritual but the one thing that never changes is that I have to read a few pages before I fall asleep. No matter how late or even if I have been out that night, I need my chill down time with a book before I sleep. And yes often, 5 minutes reading turns into 2 hours!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds just like me! Especially with the needy husband and the "one more chapter" lie : )
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yeah, my husband hates to go to bed alone but sometimes I just can't give up the book :-)
ReplyDeleteTotally! I start reading when I come home from work and read until I go to bed.
ReplyDeleteThis is why were such good blogger buddies CeCe! We have so much in common :-)
ReplyDeleteThe "one more chapter" syndrome is evil! And lol so cute he doesn't like to go to bed alone :D
ReplyDeleteI wish I could manage to read before sleeping, but I always forget and when it is time to go to bed, I am already tired. The one more chapter thing is soo true, though. Especially if it's a book I'm loving.
ReplyDeleteIt is totally evil!! Yeah, he can be a little needy :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, when it is a good book, the one more chapter thing always comes up :-)
ReplyDeleteHaha one moree chapter. That is me, all the time. =)
