Saturday @ Starbucks is a periodic feature hosted by Starbucks & Books Obsession.
So I decided to change up my Saturday @ Starbucks feature to do a little something different. I'm going to start doing a Best/Worst post with a different topic every other week that may or may not be bookish related. With the topic, I will pick the "best" and "worst" in my opinion and tell you why. I'll also share with you what I'm drinking that week. Anyways, hope you like the new style and we'll see how it goes!
This week's Best/Worst topic is:
Christmas Movies
What I'm Drinking:
Starbucks Christmas Blend
Since it's the season, I thought I'd start off my first Best/Worst with Christmas movies. I am a Christmas movie junkie and I love them. There are more out there than can possibly be counted included a bazillion made for TV movies so I'm going mainstream here and giving you MY best & worst from the big screen. Let me know what you think!
BEST: Christmas Vacation (1989)
This movie is probably my all time favorite Christmas movie. I am a comedy junkie and this movie never fails to make me laugh. Clark Griswald is an accident waiting to happen. This movie is definitely a classic.
Honorable Mentions: The Santa Clause, Scrooged
WORST: Christmas with the Cranks (2004)
This movie has some A-list actors but obviously D-list writers. It fell way short and I wasn't impressed at all. It was cheesy humor and way too over the top. They just don't make them like they used too.
Honorable Mentions: Bad Santa, Jingle All The Way

What do you think? Agree or Disagree? What's your favorite Christmas movie?
I haven't seen either of these movies... is that strange? Usually, for Christmas, we watch Disney Christmas movies only, both the kids and the adults love those :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend Chelsea :)
I love NLCV, it just makes me laugh at loud. Have to admit I love Bad Santa too though! I think my favourite is It's a Wonderful Life though, it just makes me feel all warm and mushy inside :)
ReplyDeleteI love NLCV as well! My other Christmas faves include Elf, its a wonderful life, Muppet Christmas carol, love actually and...I'm sure there's more but those are the ones I can think of! I actually also like jingle all the way hahaha.
ReplyDeleteChelsea, I love your blog! I am obsessed with starbucks as well. My favorite coffee during the christmas season is the Cinnamon Dolce Latte! I haven't seen either of these christmas movies, but now I need to check out Christmas Vacation since you loved it so much! I love movies that make me laugh. What a fun post!!!
ReplyDeleteLindy@ A Bookish Escape
I love Christmas Vacation and Christmas with the Kranks isn't the best, but I still think Jingle All The Way is the worst. It's not good. I think I would have picked Arthur Christmas as my favorite Christmas movie. This best/worst is a great idea, and I love the honorable mentions. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have seen either of these! LOL Leave it to me, right?
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile since I have watched a NEW-TO-ME Christmas movie. Every year, we watch The Grinch and The Nightmare before Christmas haha
BTW, love the Starbucks Christmas Blend :D
Christmas Vacation! Of COURSE! It's a classic. I love watching that! I've never watched Christmas with the Kranks. But I'm not a huge Tim Allen/Jamie Lee fan, so I probably wouldn't care for it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas movies are White Christmas and It's a Wonderful Life. Those are two of my must watches of the season. I also enjoy Love Actually and I watch Meet Me in St. Louis (Even though it's not a Cmas movie) because I love when Judy Garland sings Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
I'm actually not a huge fan of Xmas-y movies (they are usually way too cheesy), so we mostly watch Disney movies (or ice-skating) on Christmas, but I agree Christmas Vacation is good. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I definitely agree about Christmas with the Kranks!
ReplyDeleteChristmas Vacation is awesome!Never get tired of that... my favorite is probably White Christmas and I kinda like The Family Stone too. Christmas w/ The Kranks...nah not so much.
ReplyDeleteLOL, not strange at all but you should definitely watch a Christmas Vacation. I is hilarious. Oh, I love Disney Christmas movies. Especially Mickey's Christmas Carol.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I can watch that movie a hundred times and never get tired of it. It's a Wonderful Life is a good one too!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Elf is hilarious. I do like that one too. I haven't seen Muppet Christmas Carol in so long. LOL, I'm not gonna deny that I do watch Jingle All the Way if it comes on but... :-)
ReplyDeleteAww..Thanks so much Lindy. I adore the name of your blog, so cute! I don't know what it is about Starbucks coffee but it definitely beats all others for me. I LOVE the Cinnamon Dolce Latte too! Christmas Vacation is a definite must see. I love that its a little more of an adult Christmas movie too. Makes me laugh every time.
ReplyDeleteoh, Great pick! I think Arthur Christmas is so cute. I also really liked Rise of the Guardians too. Yeah, Jingle All the Way is definitely one of the worst :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the Grinch too! The Nightmare Before Christmas is so good, I remember watching it as a kid. You should definitely watch A Christmas Vacation. You and your hubby would love it. Isn't the Christmas blend so good? :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely not missing out on Christmas with the Kranks :-) I think I watch Christmas Vacation at least once a week at Christmas time. It makes me laugh every time. You have some really great picks, Classics!
ReplyDeleteLOL,I agree. There are a lot of cheesy Christmas movies out there. Disney movies are the best!!
ReplyDeleteRight? I can't believe they put it in the theatres :-)
ReplyDeleteMe either! I think I watch it once a week at Christmas time. Love cousin Eddie :-) Family Stone is a really good one too. I like that movie as well.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Vacation is my favorite! I watched it yesterday. Love love love that movie. Elf is another one we watch every year.
ReplyDeleteYes, Mickey's Christmas Carol is so well done! I will check out Christmas Vacation, too - I am going to spend some time traveling very soon, so I need to be occupied :)
ReplyDeleteWe watch lots of Christmas movies in my house every year. My mom is a bit obsessed. My all time favorite is Eloise at Christmastime!!
ReplyDeleteElf is a really good one too. I think Will Ferrell is hilarious. I think I watch Christmas Vacation once a week at Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteLOL, We only get to watch them once a year right? :-) That is a really great pick!
