~Synopsis~
One bad boy. One good girl. One unforgettable week.

Angelle Prejean is in a pickle. Her family is expecting her to come home with a fiancé—a fiancé who doesn’t exist. Well, he exists, but he definitely has no idea Angelle told her mama they were engaged. Tattooed, muscled, and hotter than sin, Cane can reduce Angelle to a hot mess with one look—and leave her heart a mess if she falls for him. But when she ends up winning him at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.

Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little fiancé game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. But even as Angelle burrows deeper into his heart, he knows once their seven days are up, so is their ruse.

~Review~

Oh my gosh!! I have an author crush on Rachel Harris. I seriously love her and her writing. There is something about it that just draws me in and keeps me there until the very end. She creates such memorable characters and Cane and Angelle were no exception.

I really liked Angie. She definitely gets a bit of a bad rep in Taste the Heat but getting to know her showed the side you didn't see and she is actually a really great girl. She spent her whole life doing what everyone else wanted her to do instead of living it for herself. She moved to Magnolia Springs to do just that but she is still a bit reserved. She is definitely attracted to Cane but he is the kind of guy that scares her and she knows she should stay away from him. I loved the friendship she has built with Sherry and Colby. They have become like family to her and it has really helped her fit in.

Cane is a playboy but definitely not a man-whore. He has issues with commitment that stem from his parents and he shies away from relationships because of this. However, he is still a really amazing and respectful man. He puts up a tough guy, bad boy front but he is a closet nerd and that is so freaking sexy. He never lets anyone see this side of him but something about Angelle makes him want to open up to her. He’s been with a lot of women but none have ever buried themselves under his skin like she does.

“Brain-scrambling kisses aside, Cane Robicheaux was a child-whispering, factoid-spouting, sister-protecting, amazing smelling (a trait that cannot be left out) hunk of swoon-worthy material.”

I’ve mentioned this before but I am a sucker for these types of plot lines. I love the fake relationships that turn into something real. Seven Day Fiancé is probably one of my favorites. The passion and chemistry is always there between Cane and Angelle, but watching them fall in love during the process is the best part. I loved how supportive Cane is of Angelle and how much he wants to help her show her family that she is strong and independent. Angelle’s family is fiercely protective of her and they aren’t exactly opening the welcome wagon for Cane at first. However, Cane is charismatic and charming and he has them all eating from his palms in no time.

As Cane and Angelle spend time together, they both open themselves to one another and share parts of their past that bring them closer. Angelle knows she is falling in love with Cane and this scares her but she is sure she senses he feels something for her too. She shares something with him that she hasn’t shared with anyone else and this scares Cane. He is confused by his feelings for her because he hasn’t felt this way before. When he finally realizes that it’s love he feels, he has to prove himself to Angelle because he really hurt her and broke her trust. I think, in the end, he definitely made it up to her and more.

Rachel is another author that just gets better and better with each book. Seven Day Fiancé is her best yet. I loved the plot, the characters, the writing and of course, the food. I always feel like I’m right there in the Cajun Bayou with these people and it takes a talented writer to put you into the story with the characters like that. Bravo, Rachel!

It's just so fun seeing the couple think they are pretending for the world, when really they are just fooling themselves (he he)
