~Synopsis~
“Angels aren’t supposed to fall in love, especially with each other. But for the record, you were worth it.”

Grace Tate is a Protection Angel and Vampire Hunter, and she has always followed the rules. But some rules are made to be broken…

Until now the fight against evil has been simple, and falling in love was never part of the plan. So what happens when it’s beyond Grace’s control, and when she least expects it she falls for the wrong person?

All hell breaks loose, that’s what.

At Hopetown Valley High, not everything is as it seems, and the one person Grace thought was her enemy becomes her most important ally.

Blood will be shed, lives will be lost and friendships will be tested. It all comes down to one decision, and when Grace tries to save all those dear to her, she realises not everyone can be—or wants to be—saved.

~Prelude~
Over the last few months, I have drastically switched my reading preferences and have been reading mostly new adult and contemporary romance. Before that, I was reading a lot of YA paranormal so when I saw Fall For Me, I decided to give it a shot because I have always loved these types of books. I haven’t read many over the last few months and I had mixed feelings about this one. Let me tell you why!

~Review~
Fall For Me was a very unique YA paranormal fantasy. A lot of times, these books can all be a little bit the same with a different spin from each author but this book was truly different than anything I have read. Usually these books are nephilium, vampires/werewolves or magical creatures. In the case of Fall For Me, it mixed the nephilium and vampire worlds into one. That is what won me over with this book.

Grace is an angel who has been with the Tate family for centuries, reborn with each generation to help the brother she is born with, who is a human hunter. What does he hunt you say? This is where the vampires come in. The Tate’s have been a family of vampire hunters for centuries and Grace has been there protector. Together, she and her brother, Asher, hunt and kill vampires to protect humans. However, they make a discovery about one vampire in particular that changes everything. At the same time, Grace finds herself falling in love with a human, which is strictly forbidden. Suddenly she finds herself defying everything she believes in to protect those she cares about. Instead, she may have just made things a whole lot worse.

I didn’t care too much for Grace. I thought she made a lot of bad decisions and she was very self-centered. I liked her loyalty to Charlotte and her brother but she brought Josh into her world for very selfish reasons and everything that happened with him was her fault. They had this insta-love that I didn’t really get into. I felt like they moved way too fast and had this eternal love after only one week. However, as soon as Grace changed, she suddenly had resurfacing feelings for Seth and she was now stuck in a love triangle.

"In that moment it didn't matter that Josh was human and I was an angel. It didn't matter that what we were doing was against the rules, and it didn't matter that I would outlive him a thousand lifetimes over. All that mattered was us, and I melted into his kiss."

I felt bad for Josh. He is ecstatic to have Grace share his feelings and she gives up everything to be with him. She pulls him into her world and he comforts her when she needs him the most. As soon as his world is turned upside down, Grace pretty much abandons him and he is left heart-broken and forever changed. However, his feelings for her have never wavered, no matter how angry he is. Seth is the bad boy but he isn’t as terrible as he lets everyone believe. Everything he did was because of his love for Grace and when she changed he finally saw his chance to be with her. She wants so badly to be with Josh but when Seth begins to pursue her, she sees a different side of him, one from long ago and she begins to have mixed feelings. I myself am somewhat torn on this love triangle and not really sure yet who I prefer, Seth or Josh.

"Why did it feel wrong when he touched me, but when he didn't it was all I could think about?"

Archer and Charlotte are easily likable characters. While everything they have ever known says they can’t be together, they have an attraction to one another that can’t be explained. Archer is very protective of Grace and he is a very loyal friend and brother. Charlotte is sweet and caring but she is holding a secret that will change everything.

While I wasn’t impressed with Grace or the instant relationship with her and Josh, I did enjoy the plot behind this book. It was exciting and mysterious and there were a few surprises that I definitely wasn’t expecting. There was also a little heartbreak in there. The writing was well done and I am intrigued to see what will happen in the next book and where the author will take the story.

  1. Daughter of Smoke and Bone has ruined all angel books for me. Nothing could ever compare. I'm not liking the sound of Grace either, I think she'd annoy me. At leat you enjoyed the plot and the writing though.
