This week's topic is:
Book Vacay: Where is the best destination reading spot for you? (Where do you like to go to read other then your home)
I live in Seattle and I love being in the mountains and outdoors but the great thing is that there are also beaches. If I am reading outside of the home, I love reading down at the beach or relaxing near a lake or river. While I am not a big fan of being in water, I love to relax near it. It is so peaceful and relaxing.
However, the winters here are not conducive for outdoor reading so I love going to Starbucks and reading a comfy chair while I drink a hot latte. This is very soothing and comforting in crappy weather.
My husband and I usually take several small vacations through out the year and we are always go-go-go on these vacays so the most reading I get done during an actual vacation is during travel or late at night/early morning while my husband is still sleeping. It's relaxing reading in bed though so I don't mind.
What about you? Where do you like to read if you're not doing it at home?
It's the opposite for me. Our summers are too brutal to go outside during the day, hence the reason my tan is steadily fading. Only 3 more months until normal tempertures, yay!

Check out my FF post!
Thanks! I love sitting out at the beach and reading. I try to get as much sun as possible, living in Seattle.
ReplyDeleteReading in bed is super relaxing, sometimes too much. Even with a good book, I can get sleepy :-) Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I haven't been to Maryland before. Winters are long and rainy here but when summer comes, it is the most beautiful place to be :-) Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHere in Seattle, summers are the best! We don't get too hot and it is so gorgeous. However, we have long, rainy winters. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI love beach reading! Starbucks is usually harder for me because I end up people watching more than reading but a latte in hand is definitely needed in the winter. I always read when my husband is sleeping too. It's relaxing and I love looking over during a sweet scene in my book and seeing my handsome, sleeping man.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Gig Harbor! I loved going down to the grassy park to read back then.

It's so hot outside right now there is no way I could read out there. I mostly like to read in bookstores or cafes, my favorite Starbucks. New follower on bloglovin. Happy Friday,

Thanks for the visit! I like my coffee too! :) Btw, I think mini-vacations are such a great way to rejuvenate!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this location! What's it officially called? I'm coming to visit you next summer. Let your hubby know some random girl is coming to stay with you. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm not an outdoors reading but I can see how it might appeal to a lot of people. :) Thanks for visiting!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping back by. I don't read outside too often but do like it when I get a chance too.:-)
ReplyDeleteThis one is in Harrison, ID. There are so many beautiful beaches here in Seattle. You definitely have to come next summer. I'll send my hubby out of town and we can have a girls weekend. It will be a blast!
ReplyDeleteThey definitely help when you feel burnt out. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! The beach is so relaxing. I love listening to music, the waves and enjoying a good book
ReplyDeleteI am lucky that summers in Seattle are not too hot and I can spend a good amount of time outside. We deserve for all the rain though :-) Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI love Gig Harbor! It is so nice and beautiful there. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet :-) I am a people watcher too but with my headphones on and immersed in my book and I good at not getting distracted.
ReplyDeleteand I'm gonna come crash the party and hang out with you guys!!
ReplyDeleteI <3 Seattle so very very much. =) I love the beaches too! Summers there are SO nice for being outside. Honestly, I can't read outside in vegas -- it just feels like I'm baking. When I was at UW, I loved reading in the quad! Oh and yes -- I seriously love reading at coffee shops. =)
ReplyDeleteSummers in Seattle totally make up for the crappy rain in the fall, winter and spring. I know what you mean, when I lived in Idaho, there were days I couldn't even go outside it was so hot.
