This week's topic is:
What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?
I mostly read e-books now but when I read a paperback, I usually just put it back on my bookshelf after I have read and reviewed it. I like to keep the book out until I've done my review so that it is readily available.
Since I mostly read e-books, I have a system for filing them away when I finish. Once I finish a book, I leave it on my carousal until I write and publish my review. Once I have published my review, I remove it from my carousal and archive it on my kindle. This way the only books that I have on my carousal are my unread books, which is growing by the day. Yes, I have a book hoarding problem and I am kind of an organizational freak :-)
I've been reading a lot for my Kindle so the books on my shelf are just there piling up with to-read labeled on them. Even if I read the book on Kindle I tend to buy them in print if available. But my storing them needs to be checked if I'm buying more prints.
ReplyDeleteI still prefer a book in hand over a ebook.. but I read books on my Nook when I can :)

I have different folders on my kindle and just file them away in the appropriate folder when I'm finished. So far I haven't archived any yet as I haven't run out of room.
ReplyDeletePhysical books, I keep if I will reread them. Otherwise I pass on to family or give to a charity shop. I used to keep them all but after decades of doing that, storage became a problem! I'm more selective now :O
I'm the same way. I love my books but it drives me crazy when they're not organized. I have so many books on my kindle that I sub-divide them into categories. But, like you, once they are read and reviewed, they get deleted.

Hopping through. I do that too. I'll leave an ebook on my phone until I review it and then archive it.

My unread books are definitely piling up on me :-) I usually only buy hard copy books when I really want to own it. I read a lot of indie author books which aren't always available in hard copy.
ReplyDeleteI do like books in hand but I read a lot of Indie books that aren't always available in hard copy so my kindle has become my new best friend :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that you are an organizer like me :-) I don't buy many hard copies so I always keep the ones I buy. I am a re-reader so I love having them on hand.
ReplyDeleteYes! I need organization. I really need to go through and sub-divide mine too. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteIt is the easiest way for my to go through and pick out a new book to read, even though I have so many unread books, I am afraid to count them!
ReplyDeleteI mostly use eBooks now too - they just take up less space and I can get them more quickly.

I need to archive my Nook books or something like that. I think it's smart you only have unread books your carousal though. Makes organizing a whole lot easier!
ReplyDeleteI really love having a kindle because the books don't take up so much space, but I still miss having an actual book in front of me.

When you're a book blogger, it's important to have some sort of organisational system or it gets a bit crazy!

It's always nice to be at least a little organized, or at least a system that makes sense to you even if it doesn't to anyone else :)

I agree, definitely why I love e-books! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteIt's the only way to keep my sanity. :-)
ReplyDeleteHaving an actual book is enjoyable but I'm not sure I'd have room in my house if all my kindle books were hard copies.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. There must be organization or all hell breaks loose :-)
ReplyDeleteAgreed! I have to have a system to avoid craziness and panic attacks. :-)

ReplyDeleteI should probably start archiving my read ones. My kindle is like an explosion of books. =\
ReplyDeleteIn order to not have a complete mental breakdown, I at least need some organization.
